This exquisite antique diamond and ruby crescent, dating back to circa 1900-1910, is crafted in 18ct gold with a timeless celestial design.
The crescent is adorned with VS1, G-colour diamonds, including approximately 0.30ct old European cuts, 0.50ct rose cuts, and 0.25-0.30ct calibre-cut rubies, which create a striking contrast against the shimmering diamonds.
Its hidden bail was thoughtfully designed to be concealed by a trio of milgrain-set old European diamonds, arranged to resemble celestial bodies—the largest, likely representing Venus, is 0.25ct and 2.75mm in diameter (measured in its setting). This innovative construction allows the crescent to be worn seamlessly as either a pendant or brooch, appearing to float when suspended from chains, clasps, or charm holders.
Weighing 7.71g (including the removable brooch fittings), this versatile piece measures 30mm in length (including the bail), 25.75mm in diameter, and 7mm at its widest section.
With its rich Edwardian-era craftsmanship and celestial symbolism, this antique crescent jewel is a breathtaking addition to any fine jewellery collection.
