A beautifully unusual bicolour chain combining warm, peach-toned 18ct gold with the cool contrast of platinum. This one-of-a-kind piece has been newly created by Lucille London from carefully selected antique chain components, uniting contrasting sections of 18ct gold and platinum in an original asymmetric design.
Its construction brings together several distinctive link styles. One side features elongated 18ct gold paperclip links interspersed with sculptural platinum lover’s-knot links, while the other is formed from a finely articulated curb chain with contrasting sections of gold and platinum. The variation in colour, texture and proportion gives the chain a wonderfully characterful appearance that changes as it moves and catches the light.
At 26.6 inches long, it can be worn as an elegant long chain on its own or styled with the bolt ring brought to the front to carry a pendant, charm or connector. Despite its refined 3mm width, the substantial 21.69g weight gives it a luxurious feel and beautiful drape.
The 18ct gold has a particularly lovely peachy hue, complementing the softly aged platinum and highlighting the intricacy of the different links.
There appears to be a faded stamp on the bolt ring, possibly indicating the metal purity, although no other hallmarks remain. Each component has been professionally tested as 18ct gold and platinum using an XRF desktop analyser.
The antique chain components remain in excellent condition, with little to no noticeable wear to the links. Each section retains excellent definition and articulation, while the bolt ring remains strong, secure and in good working order.
