This Edwardian 18ct gold Albert watch chain, dated 1908 with Chester assay hallmarks, is a stunning piece of historical craftsmanship. Comprising substantial trombone and oval links, this chain has a luxurious weight of 50.58g (including the removable t-bar extender) and a stunning yellow gold hue.

Versatility defines this piece. Wear it as a traditional Albert chain or use the t-bar section as a pendant, an extender, or a lariat. The chain measures 17.15 inches without the extender, 19.15 inches with the dog clip attached to the largest 'O' ring of the extender, and up to 19.60 inches when worn at its longest length with the dog clip secured to the T-bar bail.

This chain features wonderfully hallmarking throughout, including crown and "18" stamps on every link, a maker’s mark "EC" on the swivel dog clip and the swivel t-bar, and the Chester assay mark with a 1908 date letter on one of the trombone links. The trombone links measure approximately 20.25 x 6 mm, 1.75mm thick, and show no real wear beyond some slight hallmark fading on some of the stamps. While the bolt ring exhibits slight wear on its underside, it remains fully functional.  The dog clip remains strong and secure.

This rare and versatile design holds significant appeal for antique jewellery collectors and connoisseurs.
