Wow wow wow WOW!
This incredible necklace is the statement chain you have been looking for. She is a completely unique, one-of-a-kind piece, converted from an albert watch chain and the clasp of a pearl necklace.
The rare Georgian clasp is 18ct gold, with blue and white enamel and a stunning rose-cut diamond set in the centre. The diamond is foil-backed, allowing it to sparkle under candlelight, as many pieces of this era were designed to do. There is an additional security link found at the top of the clasp and shown in the photos, an original design element to the clasp, ensuring the clasp and necklace remains securely fastened when worn.
The chunky chain dates to the early 20th Century, crafted in 18-carat gold with solid curb links (not hollow) each one stamped for 18ct gold with an "18" and a crown. It graduates in width, from the chunkiest section framing the blue enamel and diamond clasp at the front, and the narrowest section sitting comfortably at the back of the neck.
The gold tone is overall a yellow gold colour that in some light appears to have a warm undertones and in other light looks to be a brighter yellow, and there is beautiful yellow patina between the curb links highlighting the age of the piece.
At a length of just under 16 inches, she is the perfect upper layer, allowing for her statement clasp to be centre of attention.
She is a hefty yet wearable 56.20 grams; a stunning antique statement necklace you will adore having in your collection.
